Manager of Teacher Mastery – Louisiana

The Manager of Teacher Mastery will select, manage, coach, and develop our teachers to deliver our programs to students in school districts located throughout the state. These programs can change the life path of students with a goal to help more students attend and complete college. They will also be deeply involved in our communities, our schools; engaged with our principals, students and families.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports directly to the Director of State Programs.
  • Work directly with a cohort of teachers (size varies by region).
  • Collaborate and problem solve with other team members to ensure the success of their region.
  • Select, train, manage and direct the teachers in their area while assisting with regional and statewide events.

Coach and Empower Teachers

  • Observe teacher instruction in live action, requiring independent travel to school sites during normal business hours
  • Provide detailed coaching to teachers on instructional techniques, classroom management, and curriculum in order for students to reach their vision while also coaching toward teachers’ long-term leadership and helping them connect their values and beliefs to their work
  • Facilitate small group sessions and design learning experiences to continue additional learning of best practices and create communities of collaboration among teachers, including occasional meetings on evenings and weekends

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required in an education related field
Minimum two years previous experience managing a team
Minimum of two years previousexperience as a classroom teacher
Deep knowledge of effective teaching practices
MasteryPrep teacher experience preferred
Ability to work some weekends and evenings
Ability to travel independently to multiple school sites throughout the day that may be significant distances from one another
Ability to navigate school facilities that may or may not be ADA-compliant
