With summer in full swing, it seems almost anytime you check social media, you see pictures of friends having fun on vacation and just can’t help but have this feeling like you’re missing out. We all experience FOMO, “fear of missing out,” from time to time and know how it feels, but have you ever thought of applying it to your incentives at school?

Keeping students motivated to succeed on standardized tests is crucial to raising scores. Strategically using FOMO can make incentives 2 -3x more powerful to students, especially when utilized correctly. When a student misses out on something that other classmates get to enjoy, they will be more motivated to achieve the assigned task next time around.
